Imagine everyone is carrying a mirror. When you have a grumpy or worried face, people look into their mirror and see your face, and it makes them feel worried too! If you put on your “Superhero Calm Cape,” your child will look in their mirror and see a superhero too.
Why This Happens: This is “Transference” and “Mirroring”. Humans naturally pick up on each other’s “engine noise”. If your mental “engine” is loud and stressed, your child’s subconscious will pick up that tension and echo it back, creating a “Larsen effect” of uncontrolled anxiety.
How to Fix It: Ground yourself. If you feel your anxiety rising, pause, breathe, and feel your feet firmly on the floor. This somatic grounding releases the “load” and prevents “bad energy contamination” from leaking into your family.
Context Research: Carl Jung emphasized that relationship health is built through understanding these projections. By elevating your consciousness, you can choose to be “calm, cool, and collected”.
