Imagine everyone is carrying a mirror. Sometimes, when people have feelings, they look at other people to seek what the look like from outside if they had his feeling like if they were facing their mirror and saw their own face, but they forgot they are looking at you! You don’t match what their mirrors say. You have your own “Magic Mirror” inside and it also tells you how wonderful you really are.
Why This Happens: People project their old feelings onto you, or you project your “own comprehension of past events” onto them.
How to Fix It: If someone is being negative or judgmental, imagine a clear, invisible shield between you and them. It is also often not negative (CBT helps here too)
Context : Carl Jung emphasised that relationship health is built through understanding these projections. By elevating your consciousness above the “reactive” response (Fight/Flight/Freeze), you can experience your life as a “deliberate choice” rather than an imposed destiny.
